This confluence has been visited four times by 11 people, with three of the parties
thinking they were first! It is interesting to note the inaccuracy of each
confluence visit, even though they all had GPS's.
06-Aug-1999 -- After having a short vacation in Michigan
and forgetting my GPS, I vowed to remedy the oversight by checking out any
local, unvisited confluences when I went to visit my buddy
Mike in Los Angeles. Imagine my surprise to find one ripe
for the picking, and right in the middle of L.A.!
Nestled in a little mountian neighborhood just west of
Hacienda Heights was the spot. A quick 40 minute trip from
Pasedina brought us well within the limit, however, the lack
of a macro lens on the crappy disposable camera prohibits full
verification. No hiking, camping, or picnicing was required
of the intrepid explorers.
This begs the question: in a city of millions of people, why
was this juicy bit of low hanging confluence fruit overlooked?
