25-Jun-2017 -- Auf der Hinfahrt zu unserem Urlaubsziel Sizilien gab es die Gelegenheit, den Konfluenzpunkt 45N 10E zu besuchen.

Auf dem Weg vom Gardasee Richtung Genua führte die Autobahn von Cremona nach Piacenza nur ca. 8 km nördlich am CP vorbei. Also gab es einen kleinen Abstecher und wir verließen die A22 bei Caorso. Zuvor war jedoch der nur ca. 2 km nördlich der A22 gelegene Fluss Po das Ziel für eine Pause. Nach einem Spaziergang an diesem riesigen Fluss ging es dann unter der Autobahn hindurch Richtung Süden und danach Richtung Südost durch die Dörfer San Pietro in Cerro und Cortemaggiore. Nun gelangt man über die Via Busseto an diversen Gehöften vorbei. Ca. 6,5 km nach Ortsausgang Cortemaggiore gelangt man an einen Hof mit guter Parkmöglichkeit unter einem großen, schattenspendenden Baum. Dort steht auch ein umgebauter Traktor, dessen Antriebswelle für irgendetwas genutzt wird, vielleicht für eine Dresch-, Rüttel- oder Siebmaschine. Von hier aus zeigte das GPS nur noch 490 m Luftlinie an.

Zu Fuß ging es nun entlang eines Bewässerungsgrabens und der Maisfelder Richtung Nordwest. Nach mehrmaligen Seitenwechsel und Versprüngen tauchte das Feld auf, auf dem der Konfluenzpunkt liegt. Es war mit einer Pflanze bestellt, die ich nicht kannte. Die Pflanzen standen eng und reichten bis zum Oberschenkel. Nahe des Zieles stellte sich heraus, dass der CP ca. 33 m innerhalb des Feldes liegt. Da ich die Pflanzen nicht heruntertreten wollte, schoss ich die Fotos von den Himmelsrichtungen und dem GPS-Display am Feldrain. Es war sehr feuchtwarm und entsprechend viele Insekten schwirrten herum. Also ging es nach den Fotos zügig zurück zum Auto. Der Hof bzw. das Wohnhaus schien nicht bewohnt zu sein, denn niemand war zu sehen und auch keine parkenden Autos.

An diesem Sonntag gegen 15:00 Uhr konnte der Konfluenzpunkt 45N 10E bei sehr heißem Wetter damit erfolgreich besucht werden.

25-Jun-2017 -- On the journey to our holiday destination on the island of Sicily we had the opportunity to visit the confluence point 45N 10E.

On the way from Lake Garda in the direction of Genoa, the highway from Cremona to Piacenza passes the CP 45N 10E only 8 km to the north. So we made a short side trip and left the highway A22 near Caorso. First we had a little stroll along the river Po which is located only 2 km northeast of the same motorway exit. After the break and some pictures at that huge river, we started to approach the CP-area. We took the road towards the south, passing under the motorway, and further on towards southeast through the villages San Pietro in Cerro and Cortemaggiore. Now on the road Via Busseto we passed several farms. About 6.5 km past Cortemaggiore we reached a farm with a good parking area under a large umbrageous tree. There was a strange modified tractor which is maybe sometimes in use as a kind of threshing, jolter, or screening machine using the main shaft. Now the GPS was showing 490 m beeline to go.

On foot I went up to the CP along a water ditch and maize fields towards the northeast. After changing the sides of the ditch several times and some offsets, the field with the confluence was in front of me. I didn't know the plants with round leaves. The plants grew quite narrow and had a height of about 1 meter. Near the CP it turned out that the exact point of intersection is located 33 meters inside the field. I didn't want to step on the plants, so I took the pictures from the edge of the field. It was very muggy and accordingly many insects were around. So after taking the pictures I hurried back to the car. The farmhouse seemed to be uninhabited. Nobody was to be seen around and no car was parked there.

So the successful visit of the confluence 45N 10E took place on a Sunday under real summery conditions.
