09-Sep-2017 -- After a 2-hour drive from home I ran out of road. A half-hour walk was required after that to reach the sought-after spot. At one point I was afraid I'd have to trod through a swamp, but I soon discovered a small dam which was reached after a short jump over a narrow creek. The dam got me through the wetlands. All that remained was a steep climb and success.

The drive over was through beautiful Colorado mountains, river valleys, and vast plains. A morning well spent!
