Wir fuhren als erstes nach Basel wo wir, zum wiederholten Mal, das Thinguely Museum besuchen. Grund war die Sonderausstellung von Wim Delvoye, unter anderem mit einer seiner Verdauungsmaschinen.

Am Nachmittag starten wir, auf Straßen ohne Maut, bei herrlichem Herbstwetter, durch herrliche Gegend nach Neuchâtel. Das dauert seine Zeit. Wir versuchen an der ehemaligen(?) Klinik zum See zu kommen, trauen uns aber nicht ohne Kontakt durch das Gelände. Einige Straßen weiter östlich kann man bei einem Strand parken und ohne Probleme zu Wasser.

Wir pumpen das mitgebrachte Schlauchboot auf und starten um die Mole der Klinik zum Confluenzpunkt. Es geht direkt gegen die untergehende Sonne und so kann man das GPS nur sehr schlecht sehen. Dafür im Süden die wundervollen schneebedeckten Berge. So kommt es, dass wir erst mal fast 100 Meter zu weit fahren. Umkehren und mit der Sonne im Rücken nähern wir uns ganz langsam dem Nullpunkt. Da die Sonne bald untergeht, geben wir uns mit angezeigten 1.84 m Abstand zufrieden.

Mit dem Dunkelwerden lassen wir die Luft ab und verstauen das Boot. Zum Abendessen fahren wir auf kleinen Straßen in eine der Ortschaften nördlich des Sees. Zur Nacht fahren wir zum Pass „Vue des Alpes“ und von da noch weiter gen Westen zum Parkplatz an der „Tête de Ran“. Wieder eine klare Nacht, am Morgen sind wir über den Wolken…

We first went to Basel to visit the Thinguely Museum. The reason was the special exhibition of Wim Delvoye, showing, among others, one of his digestion machines.

In the afternoon we started, on roads without tolling stations, in wonderful autumn weather, through a wonderful region towards Neuchâtel. This took some time. We tried to reach the lake via a former(?) hospital, but didn’t dare to walk onto the terrain without permission. Some roads further east you can park at a beach and get to the water without any problems.

We pumped up the inflatable boat we had brought along and started around the mole of the clinic towards the confluence point. We went directly against the sun and so we couldn’t see the GPS properly. But in the south we saw the wonderful snow-capped mountains. So we first went almost 100 meters too far. We returned and with the sun in our back we slowly approached the zero point. Since the sun was going down, we were satisfied with the displayed distance of 1.84 m.

With the darkness setting in we deflated and stowed the boat. For dinner we drove on small roads to one of the villages north of the lake. For the night we went to the "Vue des Alpes" pass and from there we went west to the parking lot at "Tete de Ran". Again a clear night, in the morning we are above the clouds ...
