12-May-2018 -- This is the fifth out of six reports reaching confluence points during a 4-day cycling trip through Sweden (from Stockholm to Stockholm). The story starts at 60°N 18°E and continues from 59°N 16°E.
It took me 6 hours of cycling to reach this confluence from 59°N 16°E. I cycled via Katrineholm, Vadsbro, Stäringe to Norosborg where this confluence is located.
To access this confluence I had to follow numerous of small forest roads which looped around. Interestingly, the confluence is located just at the dead end of such a long forest track. At the very end there is a reversing track loop. From this loop the confluence point is 60 m into the spruce forest near a creek. The forest clearance around the loop has an impact to the confluence point – such one can say that there is not a healthy forest around the confluence.
After the visit I continued riding eastwards along the 59th latitude. Due to several lakes and the inlet Himmerfjärden the distance to 18°E is 111 kilometres on the road network. With such a long distance ahead I would never have thought that I would be able to reach a third confluence point that day.
