07-Mar-2022 -- This is the 1st out of 3 confluence visits during our trip to Tunisia. After our arrival in the capital city Tunis by airplane, we hiked within 9 days to Sfax. For the return, we rented a car what allowed us to conveniently visit these three confluence points on a single day.
On confluence day, we started from Sfax at 10 AM after we had received our rental car. We quickly reached the confluence area by simply following road P13 to Khecham. From there we had to overcome another 5 km on various dusty backroads which were more or less drivable.
We parked in 25 0m distance (although it would be possible to drive up to 100m to the point) and walked on this pleasant March day to the confluence. At a distance of 100 m we passed a solar panel, which appears to be new.
The confluence is in an irrigated olive grove. The ground is freshly ploughed. Comparing my pictures with those from the two visits 17 years ago, it becomes obvious, how slow olive trees grow. The infrastructure around the confluence, however, has grown faster!
