This was the first confluence visit for Jack and I, and I'd say that this was an ideal place to start out (very straightforward). Both of us became aware of the Confluence project several years back but hadn't thought too much about it until very recently (i.e., a few days ago). Not exactly strangers to esoteric geography-based hobbies (like clinching highways and counties), it was only a matter of time before we came around to visiting confluences. Very little planning was needed ahead of time due to this point's relative proximity, and we completed the entire trip in under 90 minutes.

Everything about the visit to the confluence was pretty ordinary for a late July afternoon in central Oklahoma — it was in the low 90s with slightly hazy skies, a little breezy (as it almost always is), and pleasantly low-trafficked highways on the way to and from the destination. Didn't see anything too interesting along the way, just a typical two-lane highway (OK 39) passing through alternating patches of forest and plains/farmland.

The confluence itself was conveniently located about a block from the highway off a gravel road. Given the time of year, I was a bit concerned that the confluence point would be overgrown but luckily the vegetation wasn't more than shin-high at its worst. We passed through a gate located about 100 feet northwest of the point, and easily made our way to the confluence. We lingered for a couple minutes and got pictures, but didn't feel the need to stay for too long. In my opinion this spot was about as typical of a rural Oklahoma location as one could expect to find anywhere from Ardmore to Stillwater. This visit was a good way to fill a lazy afternoon: one confluence down, probably many more to come!
