03-Jan-2001 -- N23 W110 is the southernmost confluence in Baja California,
and the only one south of the Tropic of Cancer. It lies just north of Cabo San Lucas.
From looking at maps, it seemed that this might be a fairly easy confluence to
visit -- just take a rural road to the hamlet of Los Pozos, then a short hike to the
confluence point.
From Cabo San Lucas, I found the rural road quite easily (it's the road signposted
to "Colonia Lomas del Sol"). This road starts out paved, but quickly becomes
a narrow dirt (sandy) road. Unfortunately, when I got to Los Pozos, I was still 4.5 km
from the confluence point. By taking some of the maze of dirt roads nearby, I was
able to drive to a point 2.6 km from the confluence. At this point I didn't feel like a
5+ km round-trip hike through cactus, so I gave up and turned back. I'll leave this
confluence for someone more adventurous than I.
