20-May-2001 -- This confluence is near Flathead Pass in the Bridger Range north of Bozeman, Montana. It's on a steep, east-facing hillside at around 6,600 ft. AMSL. A logging road goes to within 0.44 miles of the confluence. From there it's a steep, downhill, cross-country scramble to the confluence through fairly dense lodgepole pine and Douglas fir forest. Fortunately for GPSing, the confluence itself is on a cleared slope with a good view of the sky. Several snow showers punctuated the day. I was able to take the photographs during a period of sunshine between showers. The photo of the GPS documents the snow.
