02-Jun-2001 -- My friend David needed some help moving a fridge and deep freeze into his cabin at Pelican Pointe (50°48.09N 105°01.62W). Since this confluence was close to the cabin we decided to visit it after the move.

After leaving Pelican Pointe we drove north then west to Sorenson’s Beach (follow the highlighted line on the map). From Sorenson’s Beach we drove north until connecting with Highway 322. We followed 322 until it’s termination at highway 220 then turned east. Finally turning north along the grid that would take us close to the confluence.

On approaching the confluence we noted a farm ahead of us (51°00.43N 105°00.19W) and decided that must be the residence of the landowner. We drove into the yard and found the owner, Darryl Kerr, playing with his dog.

We explained the project to Darryl and asked his permission to cross his land. We provided Darryl with a copy of the landowner’s information document. Darryl was kind enough to allow us to drive across his field and asked us when he could see the posting on the project web site. We are grateful for his kindness as driving saved us 600m of walking.

The confluence was on the edge of an area that had been left in its natural state and was full of grasses, wild rose bushes and trees. There was a large pond and a few ducks occupied the pond. Surrounding this natural area were planted fields.

We took the pictures and returned to the farm where Darryl helped us out with our hunt for rocks to surround Dave’s fishpond.
