02-Jun-2001 -- Since all of the Austrian confluences are visited (more or less) we decided to form a task force in order to go north. The most western confluences in the Czech Republic were the targets.
We headed north for 124 km, crossed the border with ease and then drove then along the Vltava artificial lake
(Lipno dam) through a hilly, wooded landscape towards Prachatice. Just 3 km south of the confluence we passed Libínské Sedlo and stopped at the church (pic#4).
Finally we found the spot in a forest close to a housing area (pic#5) in the southern outskirts of
Prachatice. From the forest boundary (~15 m) you have an excellent view over the city (pic#6).
Then we continued to
50°N 13°E and had to acknowledge that this confluence needed more efforts and the weather conditions became more bad.
