20-Jun-2001 -- Confluence N47 W67 I knew also fell into my working circle, but located on private Canadian paper company land. However, this company is known for its multiple use forest management and a good neighbor. Doing business with, and having Norm Hachee as a friend, the unit forester in the area, made seeking this confluence a “work day” with great weather, a day one many only dream about. We would combine timber cruising with the locating of this confluence.
From Norm’s office we jumped into his new 4x4 and headed for the woods. Luckily we had a 4-wheel drive as we climbed loose gravel dirt roads that were close to 30% grades. We traveled about 18 miles of logging roads and arrived about 75’ from the confluence! I almost started feeling guilty getting to my fourth confluence without any real foot work as I have read about from the other confluence hunters out there.
Thank you Norm and Fraser Papers for your assistance! Norm and I will be visiting another confluence in July, we hope.
