24-Jun-2001 -- This confluence point lies buried in the woods near the town of Littfeld. Driving slowly through residential areas in Littfeld I had to pass through a very small tunnel under a railroad line. Having thought that the little road on the maps near the confluence point is prohibited to cars, I was surprised that it wasn't! It is in fact a road to a little restaurant on top of a hill called the Kindelsberg. The road is badly maintained and has on some parts a steep incline. It goes from an elevation of about 330m (Littfeld) to just under 600m (Kindelsberg). It is also so small that downhill driving cars can't easily pass uphill driving cars.
I parked in a little path to the side about 200m from the confluence point. Once coming near, it was a little difficult to go further, because of the density of the wood. Fortunately, the confluence point lies near an old manmade forest aisle. On the last 15m or so I found it difficult to pinpoint the exact location. It seemed to me that I had to move at least a couple of meters before the GPS switched from averaging mode to normal mode. Whenever I thought I had the point, the GPS showed after a short time a different (averaged) position. At the end, I moved 15m away (not very easy in a dense wood!), went back to the suspected position, and waited there. After some tries I finally had a position which stayed stable!
After taking the pictures, I returned to my car, drove the remaining 2km to the Kindelsberg restaurant, and enjoyed a good meal and a nice view of a nearby town. I don't know if it was Littfeld or Krombach.
