26-May-2001 -- This was our third confluence for
the day but we waited for the film to be developed.
This one is pretty easy to find, as it is on the
Oregon-Nevada border about 15-16 total miles off
Hwy 140. Hang a north at the border sign, travel about
2.5 miles on the dirt road, hang an east for about 11.5 miles
and at the end of the road, walk the rest of the way in.
Take water, food and plenty of fuel. The road is dirt all
the way in and is overgrown and has a few rocks upthrust.
We saw a lot of wild horse sign on the way in and we also saw
a herd of about 30 +/- critters on our way out, and as it was
after dark, we did not get any photos of them, sorry.
The GPS read 42:00.000 N X 119:00.000 in the D:M.SSS mode
and 41.99999 N X 119.00000 W all in WGS 84, so we were
kinda close.
This is not a winter trip and I would be real careful for
thunderstorms and rain the rest of the year, but the view
is worth the trip.
