12-Jul-2001 -- After taking a week off on holiday and buying a new Magellan 310 GPS, I returned home to Torrens Creek eager to set off on a discovery trip.
It was a typically fine day and a very comfortable 25 degrees so my Father Fred and myself set off on the 25km drive south of town to the closest point to the confluence. This left us with a 2.5km walk through spinifex bush to our destination.
Although the walk was flat the spinifex does stick in your clothes and painfully in your underwear. Anyway after about an hours walk we found the confluence and I left a flag that I'd made for the purpose - a few photos were taken and then it was time to leave.
Thanks to the use of GPS we came out of the bush right where the vehicle was. Now I'm planning my next confluence.
