04-Aug-2001 -- The first confluence I made it to (31N 91W) was the worst hiking I had ever done; this one was handed to me on a silver platter during a walk in the park. It's located in the Kisatchie National Forest right near Fullerton, LA, and there's a nice little dirt road that goes right by it (a few steps is all it took for the GPS to read all zeroes, and with WAAS corrections, the error should be +/-3 meters, IIRC). Also, note that the area is home to endangered red-cockaded woodpeckers, whose home trees are very well marked.

A little side note for you if you happen to stop by this one: if you drive around to the other side of Fullerton Lake (about a mile and a quarter as the crow flies), there is a nice little hike in a park. The site is a former mill town, apparently, and it looks like ancient ruins -- no buildings are left, just a lot of huge concrete and steel blocks and partial walls in the middle of the forest. (It looks really cool, but bring bug spray.)
