27-Sep-2001 -- We were on our way from San Diego to Denver to watch a baseball game, so picking up a confluence seemed to be a sensible thing to do.
We left interstate 25 at exit 387, turning onto NM 120. After we got to Roy, we continued for about 20 miles to a dirt road, which quickly brought us to the intersection of Miller Rd and Miller Ranch Rd. When we left the pavement, we were about 2 miles north of the confluence.
We went through one, two, three, four open gates, with the road gradually getting worse. After about 1 & 1/2 miles, we passed an abandoned "house", and then a bunch of rusting parts that might once have been a car.
We then left the vehicle, and hiked about 80 yards to the confluence.
The confluence is in the high plains, and we could see for miles, in spite of the storm clouds (and virgo) around us. It was fall here, and the air was full of mating insects.
