29-Sep-2001 -- I feel I am 0 for 3, as the last set of confluences under my name in Kansas have generally been plowed fields, as is this one.
However this was more fun as I brought a couple of friends along. We left their house and drove west from their place about an hour, turning north in the center of Macksville, the GPS pointing diagonally NW. A couple of miles North, the GPS swinging its arrow left (west), I was slowing down to turn into a farm house's driveway, when was re-directed to go another 100 yards to the dirt road. After that, no problem, as the confluence was just off the road, about 15 yards into a plowed field. Jean took the GPS and, handling it like a divining rod, waded through the seimi-soft dirt to get to the spot.
It must have been rush-hour, as no less than 6 pickups drove by during the time we were there, I'm sure curious about what the three of us were doing taking pictures 15 yards off the dirt road. Alas, we did not get to visit Zook.
