27-Sep-2001 -- We were driving from San Diego to Denver, and as we were driving along I-40, we noticed that we were getting close to a confluence. The nearest point on the freeway was about 1/2 mile from the confluence, so we got off the freeway, and made our way back on the (dirt) frontage road. When the road crossed under the freeway, we left the car and continued on foot. We reached the confluence right at sunset.
