13-Nov-2001 -- This DCP if f-a-r away from anywhere. I visited on a cloudy, rainy day. I was struck by the amount of water running in this apparently desert place. A stream of water is nearby. The walk from the land owner's house led me past two or three springs.
I learned again the lesson I've learned so many times before, namely, it always takes longer than you think. I hurried to get to the spot and take photos before dark. I didn't take time to search for the geocache because of the rain and the impending darkness.
I don't know much about the history of Ibapah, but I did find two monuments. One is near the confluence and commemorates the Pony Express. The other is in town. It commemorates 4 things: the Pony Express, the Goshute Indians, the early Settlers and the Lincoln Highway.
A bad day exploring is better than any other day!
