04-Apr-2002 -- I left with high hopes, but the wetland and the left-over marsh grass soon did me in. I hate to log attempts, but I may never get any closer on this one. It is clear from prior attempts that this DCP lies beyond a wetland and in the mudflats surrounding the Great Salt Lake.
I have been checking the lake levels and found them to be quite low, so I thought I had a chance. But, the wetland was much wetter than I anticipated. The combination of water and deep, dead marsh grass from last fall made the going extremely slow and difficult. I gave up at 1.37 miles from the point.
It was a beautiful spring day. The wetland was alive with the sounds of frogs and birds.
A bad day exploring is better than any other day!
