17-Aug-2000 -- In Laramie for the Rocky Mountain
1000 orienteering event and had some time to cruise for confluences
after my run today.
Didn't have a decent map or any prepration, but county route 610
managed to get me within about 2000 meters of the spot. The road was
heading right at the confluence for about 15k, no change in bearing, but
it turned to the west, almost to go around the point, just as I got
near. That's ok as I prefer to hike, not drive anyway.
It was beautiful, remote rolling range land all the way. The land
wasn't fenced nor posted, so I imagine it was BLM land, although with no
way to be sure and no preparation, and no buildings even close that I
could see, there was nothing to do but go in or not go in.
Altogether a pleasant hike, although 4k roundtrip is a bit short.
