08-Jun-2002 -- We had a four person group to walk 3 km from the nearest road point to the confluence. The ladies could only go halfway but we managed go there through mosquito and wasp swarms. Weather was 25C ligtly clouded.
We had no GPS but a 1:20000 topographic map and magnetic compass. The confluence was in low narrowish hill (1200m x 50m) surrounded by wetter swamp area. There were no specific landmarks. The accuracy is still better than 100 meters because the forest/swamp border was clear in the map and nature. Anyhow the forest looked the same 500 meters in each direction around the confluence. (Excep of course the swamp)
