01-Aug-2002 -- After spending months in the great white open of Greenland's Summit Region (see 73N 39W) it felt great to be in the area with the color the country is named for! After a long night celebrating the return to civilisation in the Klubben of Kangerlussuaq, and a brunch at the 'Polar Bear Inn' we took bikes and hit the road towards the harbour of Kangerlussuaq - and then turned right on the road to Kelly Ville. There we left our bikes and hiked a little - to reach this secondary confluence point. It lies very close to the trail from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut, in a small valley bottom close to one of the typical blue lakes. After offering a drop of blood to the local moskitos, we hiked back via Mt. Evans, from which one can overlook the confluence area and the fjord, and the ice edge all the way to the east ... another beautiful day spiced with the visit of the crossing of two manmade lines ...
