07-Aug-2002 -- By looking at the topo map of the area we found 2 options to get to this confluence. The first one was through the Piedras Encimadas recreational area which would require a 6 km walk.
In order to make it faster we decided to do it by horseback, but the locals informed us that the terrain was not easy to ride and it would take several hours to get to the point.
We decided to use the second choice, which resulted to be easier. We drove to Zacatlán and headed north to a fireroad that would put us at about 600 meters of the confluence.
We got to this spot by following the GPS go to indications. We parked the car in a spot which left us at 800 meters of the confluence.
We started walking to the confluence and found a singletrack that lead straight to it. By following the GPS indications and using our compass. The confluence was about 5 meters from the singletrack in the middle of very thick brush that made us wander a bit to get a good reading, and were finally successfull.
