21-Jul-2002 -- This secondary confluence is only 300 metres from the A10 road between Pure and Tukums in the Kurzeme region in Latvia. We passed this road on our way from the north coast of Kurzeme to Lituania, and although this is a secondary confluence we thought that it was too close to the road not to give it a try. We drove into a forest road and parked our car there. The weather was not very good, it was cloudy and it had been raining. As there were lots of insects and the forest was rather wet, we had to wear our rain suits. It wasn’t hard to reach the confluence, although Monique managed to almost break her neck when she slipped over a wet twig (large bruise on the back). We followed a clearing, probably a former logging road, and then entered the thick forest to our right. The spot was between the trees in a rather dense part of the forest. With trees all around, there wasn’t really much to see, so we shot a few pictures and hurried back to the car.
