08-Aug-2002 -- This was our fourth day of trip to Lappland/Finnmark, and the third confluence hunt attempt. At this time we had no illusions, according to our 1/1,500,000 Michelim map the confluence was in the middle of a fjord, about 1.5 km from the road, so we knew that we will not get to it (unless we will find a boat)but we can get close enough.

We started our trip at Alta and headed to Tromsø along E6. On our way we saw the beautiful views of Altafjord and a lot of reindeer along the road.

When we got to the nearest point to the confluence, we stopped and got out of the car. We were about 1200 meters from the confluence. We could try and get a little closer to the fjord bank, but this was on private property, and nobody was around to ask permission.

We took some beautiful pictures of the area, the GPS and went on to Tromsø. We wished we had a boat...
