26-Aug-2002 -- Part 2/3 of confluence hunting on 26 August 2002:
After visiting N63E29 earlier that day (12:22 UTC) we continued towards Kuhmo. The route took us thought the towns of Juuka and Nurmes to a village of Haukela, which is situated only about 23 kilometres from the Russian border. We suddenly realized that we were in the middle of the Finnish province of Kainuu, which is famous of its vast rugged wilderness.
We were able to park our car only 500 metres from the spot but the remaining journey turned out to be tougher than we thought. The moss covered swamp made our trekking slow. The forest after the swamp was covered with lingonberries and wild mushrooms. The confluence spot was in the middle of untouched forest. We reached the exact spot at 15:05 (UTC).
After this conquest we pursued our confluence crusade to N64E29.
