09-Sep-2002 -- After spending a few days relaxing in Broome, we drove east towards Hall’s Creek and the start of the Canning Stock Route. This confluence was conveniently situated a reasonable distance from the main highway – about 14 kilometers down a dirt road and then another 15 kilometers towards Mt Anderson. A new road towards Jarmadangah Burru (an aboriginal community I assume from the name) brought me to within 340 meters of the confluence and an easy bush walk got me to the magic spot.
The actual confluence was in classic Australian bushland – flat spinifex shrubland – but the last part of the drive was quite beautiful as it wound through the red hills.
