20-Apr-2003 -- Having previously visited 28S 21E earlier in the day, we arrived at 29S 22E after travelling through Upington and Groblershoop. The Confluence lies about 1800 meters west of the Groblershoop - Marydale tar road in the Northern Cape, South Africa. Although well into autumn this part of the world was still hot with temperatures well over 30 °C.
Reaching the Confluence involved climbing two low wire fences and a 1800 metre walk across flat land covered by low bush and grasses. We did not encounter any animals, but did observe a number of apparently fresh small buck tracks. After taking photographs we set out to reach our next objective: 29S 23E.
