02-Aug-2003 -- While in upstate New York, visiting my parents, I decided to visit some of the area confluences. A few days earlier, I had visited 43 N / 74 W. Again my mother went along with me to get this confluence. We got on I-90 and headed west to the route 28 exit. The exit is less that a mile and a half from the confluence. We drove up route 28, through a small residential area and then drove up Shoemaker Hill Rd. The confluence is only about .17 from this road at the closest point. This is where we parked the car.
There was what looked like a shale road leading to the confluence, but the shale quickly turned into a path. It was a hot humid day, so my mother stayed at the car and I hiked to the confluence. I walked over a small hill into a slightly wooded area. Just beyond the wooded area was farm land. At this point, I hiked around the fields. The confluence is located in the second field on the right. I walked along the hedge row until I saw a couple of paths (trampled grass) leading to what looked to be in the direction of the confluence. Sure enough, they ended on top of the point. Someone else must have been there fairly recently. I moved around a bit to get all zeros on my GPS, then took pictures north, south, east, and west of the point. After taking my pictures, I headed back to the car.
