30-Aug-2003 -- En compagnie de mon frère Marc et de son fils Marc-André, nous avons atteint le point 48°/72°. Nous nous étions donné rendez-vous à Trois-Rivières, nous étions alors sur les traces de deux grands explorateurs: Pierre-Esprit Radisson et Desgroseillers. De là, nous avons fait route ensemble jusqu’au lac Métabetchouane où nous avons campé sur le terrain appartenant à Jean-François Gagnon. Le 30 août, nous avons fait 5,2 km en canot (incluant deux portages).

Au point 48°00'14.5" / 72°02'59.1" nous avons établi notre campement pour le retour. Ensuite, nous avons marché sur des chemins forestiers pendant 6.5 km jusqu’au lac Brion ou nous avons croisé un ours noir. De là, nous avons fait 0,5 km dans un boisé mixte composé d’épinettes et bouleaux pour nous rendre au point 48°/72°. Ce point est à moins de 100 m au nord du lac Brion. Nous avons rejoint notre campement pour la nuit. Comme la nuit était très étoilée, nous avons pu admirer toute la brillance de Mars. Le 31, nous avons rejoint notre point de départ sur le lac Métabetchouane.

30-Aug-2003 -- With my brother Marc and his son Marc-André, we reached point 48°/72°. We met in Trois-Rivières. At this moment we were in the steps of two great explorers : Pierre-Esprit Radisson and Desgroseillers. We drove up to Métabetchouane Lake where we camped on Jean-François Gagnon’s land. On August 30th, we made 5,2 km by canoe (including two portages).

At point 48°00'14.5" / 72°02'59.1", we set up camp for the return. Then, we walked 6,5 km on forest lanes up to Brion Lake. On the way, we saw a black bear. From Brion Lake, we walked another 0,5 km to get to point 48°/72°. This point is at least 100m north of Brion Lake. We were in a forest made up of spruces and birches. We went back to the camp. At night, we saw a lot of stars and we admired Mars brilliance. On August 31st, we reached our starting point on Métabetchouane Lake.
