22-Oct-2003 -- After a last view on the former bus terminal of Miramar on the Laguna Mar
Chiquita we began to head to our next confluence, 31S
62W.
We drove back to Balneria on the provincial route nr. 17 until South of the
small town of Brinckmann, where we bent South in direction Porteña. Just
before entering Porteña, we found a good dirt road heading towards ESE. We
continued for about 6 km and found another dirt road, leading ENE. We passed a small farm. And
when we where exactly on latitude, we where extremely lucky when finding
another dirt road heading WNW, i.e. straight onto the
confluence, which is located in a grain field (North,East,South,West) only
a 40 metres off the road.
The wheat is of course not
yet ready to be harvested, but compared with the begin of your trip a ten
days ago it has already grown considerably.
Then we went Southeast to the next larger town, Rafaela (Province of Santa
Fé). There is residing our friend and radio amateur Omar Costamagna.
Remember our visit to 38S 60W: He was the helpful gentlemen who
gave as a tow when we got stuck up with our car.
This evening we will go with him and his family for dinner.
