13-Nov-2003 -- A couple of days after completing a visit to 17°N 99°E I was staying in Chiang Rai in order to attend a Hash House Harriers weekend. On 13 November I set out on my rented motorbike for 20°N 100°E, which according to my Vista was about 24 km NE of Chiang Rai.
It took about 2 hours of zigzagging over all kinds of small roads and dirt tracks to get within a 100 m of the target, which was in the middle of an unharvested rice paddy.
Balancing on a small dike between the fields I reached the target without any difficulty.
The camera, which I used, has very limited capabilities so I apologize for the quality of the pictures. The whole visit was very uneventful except for the enthusiastic reaction of a large group of rice harvesting ladies. Obviously they had no idea of my mission, but they thought it really astounding to see a westerner in these parts.
