19-Feb-2001 -- I caught this confluence on my way home from Grandmother's house one weekend.
Again, driving back along I-90 there were some mean cross winds blowing snow everywhere.
I cut north around Blue Earth and drove north for a bit. After checking out the booming
metropolis of Good Thunder I headed another couple of miles east where the GPS told me that
I was as close to reaching the confluence as roads would take me.
So I hopped out of the car and realized that the confluence was a good quarter of a mile
across an open field, with twenty mile an hour winds that took the temperature well below
zero degrees fahrenheit. Like 42N 94W, I made a mad dash across the field, snapped a
few pictures and ran back before I froze to death. With the white snow and the white sky,
these are probably some of the most desolate looking pictures out there, but it was
entertaining, but always more fun with company.
