18-Feb-2001 -- We bagged this confluence on a beautiful winter day in Minnesota. The temperature was about 10 degrees, and the snow was almost two feet deep. We were able to get to within one-half mile by road, then it was time to walk.
The spot was located out in the middle of a field. It's a good thing there were snowmobile tracks to walk on as the snow was 1-2 feet deep in places. The site itself wasn't really that scenic, but it was typical of the area in that it's mostly fields and a few areas of trees and brush.
During the walk out, we were visited by the landowner and his wife on their snowmobiles. We explained what we were doing and they were very gracious about letting us continue. (Actually, they looked at us like we were crazy, shook their heads and roared off!) After that we zeroed in on the confluence and accomplished our mission.
