11-Jan-2004 -- The access to the site was quite easy. We traveled on a construction road built by the Cree Construction Development Company (CCDC) for the new hydro-electric complex named Eastmain-1 for which me and my parthner (Alexandre) are presently working.
From the camp to the closest point on the road, we traveled 37 km and parked the truck on the side of the forest. A quick check on the GPS told us there were only 1.6 km left to travel by snowshoes.
We headed straight towards the confluence point. This walk started around 11h30 am and we got to destination around 12h15pm. We crossed a lake for the last couple of hundred meters (that simplified the orienting and the comlexity of bushwalking). The temperature was quite cold, around -30 celcius without the windchill factor (about -38 to -42 with windchill factor).
This confluence was previously visited (summer 2003) by two coworkers named M. Lemonde and M. Latreille who are shown on the "summer" picture. Me and Alexandre decided that a winter visit would be a good project to fill up our one-day-break/week.
The confluence is located in a pack of bushes (under the mitt).
Coordinator's Note:This visit is Incomplete because it doesn't meet our Photo Requirements. The "visit" in summer 2003 has never been submitted to our site, and therefore is not considered a valid visit.
