23-May-2004 -- My wife and I decided to visit this confluence several weeks ago, but we couldn't due our jobs so we did it in sunday.
The confluence is located 25 km east from Tegucigalpa (Main city of Honduras) in a cattling field in "El Zamorano" valley, when arriving to the Pan-american school of agriculture you must turn right in the secondary road (Detour) to Maraita, Yauyupe and Guinope (picture #10).
In the first visit there was an open gate, this time the gate exists no more (Picture 9). Also, an unfinished barbwire fence. This time we found the barbwire fence finished and a cattle of cows in the field where the CP lies(Picture #7).
We enter the place where the gate was (picture #5), there is a dirt road maybe heading to any of the many cattling properties in the valley. About 100 meters from the gate we stop beside the fence where our GPS pointed inside the field over the 87 parallel (picture #6) and we waited for someone for permission to get in but nobody showed up.
Finally I decided to get inside the field crawling down the barbwire and walked in a straight line following the 87 parallel until the zeroes showed up in the GPS.
Then, I noticed the entire cattle came in my direction so I'd hurry to take the photo that's why it looks blury (picture #7) and almost all the zeroes, I thanked God for my country in a little pray and walked back.
The day was sunny and we drove back to Tegucigalpa after this amazing adventure.
Coordinator's Note: Image 7 is not included since it is too blurry.
All other photo numbers have been adjusted accordingly.
