21-Jun-2004 -- Two days after the visit to 18S 21E, on 21 June 2004, we were travelling back towards Rundu along the Okavango River, for a night at the beautiful Nkwasi Lodge. It was getting late afternoon, but we decided to at least have a look as to how close we could get to 18S 20E, perhaps even to come back the following morning to finish any remaining distance on foot.
We found a track leaving the B8 tarred highway, heading into the general direction of the Confluence. The track requires 4x4 due to extremely thick sand. The track is leading to two little villages, Uru and Magcuva.
Approximately 3 km before Uru is the closest point on this particular track, but still 4.9 km away from the Confluence. The required walk will be a strenuous one through soft sand and thick bush...
We did not have enough time the next morning to visit this Confluence, but intend coming back to complete the visit.
