18-Jul-2004 -- Found the point driving back from Sweetwaters National Park. Tried to drive to it in Land Rover but there were too many thorn bushes and fenced-off areas.
Luckily, I was with my Kenyan girlfriend who spoke Swahili and persuaded a local farmer to take us around the area. The chubby farmer stunk like he'd never washed, so I got rid of him asap. I then walked on foot about 200 metres and was watched by two women who stood staring at me like I was a madman plodding back and forth with a mobile phone.
Got to a barbed wire fence and had to lean over the fence to get the last 1 to a zero and ended up climbing through it to get "all the zeroes". Got ripped up in the process as the landowner had also weaved thorny branches in the fence. Nevertheless, the challenge was completed. Absolute geeky madness!
Coordinator's Note: This confluence visit was classified as "incomplete" because the visitor had his GPS receiver set to the local Kenyan/Tanzanian geodetic system Arc 1960, and thus spotted a point approx. 318 m SSE of the required WGS84-confluence.
