03-Jul-2004 -- Drove to the confluence from Blaby where we had stopped overnight on our way to Wales for our annual holiday.
Drive was not as quick or by the planned route due to me not having paid too much attention to the best way to the confluence and also due to the navigator falling asleep and me missing a turning!! More problems followed. We made another wrong turning this time caused by two factors. 1. Poor navigation by Rita 2. Inaccurate marking of confluence position by me on the map! A U turn on the dirt track we were on and then back to the main road to continue towards the confluence. On the main B5426 Road we got within 70m before the distance increased again. Parked on the main road and walked back to see where the closest point was. Found a small path leading down towards the confluence and spotted a road which we could get to by driving on and turning left into the village of Gyfelia.
Managed to drive to within 10m of the confluence according to the GPS. Hopped over the very low barbed wire fence and wandered to the point avoiding the cowpats in the field.
Due to the position of the confluence and the nearby trees accuracy was reduced to 9m.
Katharina refused to leave the car but was still obviously well within the 100m required for a successful visit. If you look carefully in the first picture you can see part of the car behind the trees.
