07-Aug-2004 -- En VIAJEROS, nos reunimos amigos, conocidos y algunos por conocer, con el objeto de recorrer parte de la gran geografía de Argentina.
Siempre buscamos un pretexto para llegar a algún lugar desconocido.
Con el desafío de "cazar" confluencias hemos encontrado motivo para acercarnos a lugares que quizás no tengan gran interés turístico pero si nos muestran distintos paisajes de este país.
Este año nos propusimos "cazar" unas 20 confluencias en 10 días.
La S33 W66 fué una de ellas, en realidad la segunda.
Fuimos un grupo de 8 personas en 4 camionetas.

En la mañana del sábado 7 de agosto de 2004 ya habíamos logrado hacer la S34 W65.
Entusiasmados con el logro continuamos camino hacia la siguiente.
Estábamos en la provincia de San Luis, cecanos a la ciudad capital del distrito y debíamos entrar a una zona de especial belleza turística.
El gobernador anterior de San Luis se esmeró en tener una muy buena infraestructura vial.
La autopista principal (ruta nacional Nro 7) tiene 3 carriles en cada sentido y está totalmente iluminada en los muchos kilómetros en que atraviesa la provincia.
Los caminos a los sitios de turismo han sido prolijamente asfaltados.
Sin embargo nos llamó mucho la atención que, siendo día sábado y pasado el mediodía, éramos los únicos que recorríamos esas carreteras, las orillas de los lagos, los lugares de acampe y pic-nic. En fin, no nos cruzamos con ninguna familia ni nadie que aprovechara esas bellezas paisajísticas.

Muertos de hambre nos decidimos a detenernos a almorzar al costado del coronamiento del dique de La Florida, que embalsa las aguas formando un bonito lago.
Allí pudimos charlar y conocernos con los nuevos integrantes del equipo; Carlos, Julián y Nicolás.
Estábamos tranquilos porque ya habíamos visto en las fotografías satelitales que la confluencia que buscábamos estaba sólo unos pocos kilómetros más adelante y a pocos metros del camino asfaltado.
Después de almorzar partimos y en poco tiempo recorrimos esos escasos kilómetros, estacionando a tan solo 20 metros de la confluencia del Paralelo 33 Sur con el Meridiano 66 Oeste.

Tomamos las fotos exigidas por la organización, algunas del grupo VIAJEROS y continuamos nuestro viaje, contentos por haber logrado dos confluencias en el día.
Más adelante nos esperaba la Cueva de Intihuasi ("La casa del Sol" en quechua). Es una cueva en la que se han encontrado restos que demuestran que ha sido habitada desde hace mas de 9.000 años.
También visitamos en la zona el viejo pueblo minero de La Carolina, con socavones abandonados de donde se extraía oro hasta hace poco tiempo.

07-Aug-2004 -- On (http:VIAJEROS) travelers we mmet friends, new and old, with the objective to look over the Great Argentine Geography.
We always have good excuse to find an unknown place.
With the challenge of "hunting" confluences we find a motivation to get closer to places that don’t have many tourist interest but yes they show the beautiful sights of this country.
This year we have the purpose of hunting 20 confluences in 10 days.
The S33 W66 was one of them, really the second.
We where 8 peoples and 4 trucks

On the morning of the 7 of august of 2004 we hade already made the S34 W65.
Enthusiastic with the previous success we continue the way to the following confluence.
We where now on San Luis province, nearby the district capital (San Luis City) and we where getting into a natural beautiful place.
The previous gubernator had made and effort to have good highways infrastructure.
The National Road N 7 has 3 hands on each side and is totally lightened on many kilometers.
The tourist roads had been carefully asphalted, anyways we where surprised not to seen many tourist, although it was Saturday midday, we where the only people out there that where running around lakes , camping’s places, and lunch stops. So, we didn’t cross any families that where enjoying this beautiful sights.

Very hungry we decide to stop besides the nice artificial lake, La Florida.
There we could chat we the new integrants of the teams, Carlos ,Julian, and Nicolas.
We where at ease because we had already seen on the satellite photograps that the next confluence was just a few km ahead and very close from the road.
After having lunch we drive ahead a few km and just park at 20 meters from the confluence with parallel South 33 Meridian 66 West

We take the required photographs by the confluence organization, and other of the group VIAJEROS, and then we keep running very happy that we already had make two confluences on a day.
Forward to the “Cave of Intihuasi” (The house of the Sun on quecha language) was waiting us. This cave had been inhabited 9,000 years ago.
Also we went to the old mining town La Carolina, where we could see the place where not far away they extract gold.

07-Aug-2004 -- In VIAJEROS ci riuniamo tra amici, alcuni conosciuti ed altri nuovi, col solo proposito di percorrere e conoscere l’Argentina.
Sempre cerchiamo un pretesto per andare in qualche posto remoto e sconosciuto, al di fuori dei circuiti turistici tradizionali.
La caccia di confluenze e’ un buon motivo per percorrere migliaia di chilometri su strade e stradine sconosciute ai piu’.
Quest’anno ci siamo proposti di visitare 20 confluenze in 10 giorni.

La mattina del 7 agosto avevamo visitato la S34 W65, continuiamo sulla RN7, entrando nella provincia di San Luis, qui la strada e’ autostrada, con 3 corsie per ogni senso di marcia ed e’ pure illuminata di notte, ci sono interessanti paesaggi e posti dove fermare Per un picnic, pero’ non incontriamo anima viva, saliamo sulle colline e ci fermiamo al Dique La Florida, un lago artificiale, per pranzare, e conoscerci un po’, ci sono tre nuovi integranti al gruppo dell’anno scorso, Carlos, Julian, Nicolas.

Avevamo visto nelle foto satellutali che la confluenza era a pochi metri dall’asfalto, per cui tranquillamente dopo mangiato siamo arrivato al punto, nel suolo pietroso si incontrano quarzi in quantita’, di diversi colori.
Scattiamo tutte le foto necessarie e proseguiamo, a pochi Km. Visitiemo la Cueva de Intihuasi, una caverna abitata 9000 anni fa, andiamo poi nel vecchio villaggio La Carolina, dove si puo’ visitare una miniera di oro che produceva anni fa, ora abbandonata.
