02-Aug-2004 -- We took a road trip from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada to visit our daughters - one in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. and one in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is one of fourteen successful confluence visits along the way.
At Exit 340 on Interstate 94, a few kilometers west of Fargo, North Dakota, we turned north to drive on a gravel road for 13 kilometers. We arrived at the area around 6:30 PM. Luckily we were able to walk along a "path" between a corn crop and a field of soybeans to W97° without destroying any plants. The confluence is just over 100 meters north of the path in a thick soybean crop. By carefully stepping through the sparse growth at the edge of the crop, Alan was able to get pictures of the GPS within the 100 meter range. He would have preferred to get the zeros, but not at the expense of trampling plants.
The corn crop to the south is thick and tall as you can see in the photos of Alan who is 6'2" and Carolyn who is 5'8" standing at the edge of the field. We didn't stand there for long however - the mosquitoes were feasting on us.
The nearby town of Prosper is small but "prospering" with well tended homes and gardens. The farms in the area were well cared for and the huge crops of Spring wheat, corn and soy beans looked thick and healthy.
