11-Sep-2004 -- At the end of our stay in JAMSHEDPUR we took the chance to go for this CP. Heading North West on the N33 in direction RANCHI we expected that a road to the north should bring us very close to our target.
As we approached the area around the CP the terrain became hilly and we crossed the longitude 86°E on the N33. So we had to turn back and find a road towards north. A promising one was found quickly, but led us directly to the artificial lake of the river Subamarekha. This dam is located 3,43 km south east of our target. A bridge downstream the dam leads to the east and could be a part of the road shown on our map.
Finally we had to accept, that the easy access by road is probably obstructed by the lake not yet shown on the map. We went back to a village as close as 3,25 km south east from the CP. Due to the monsoon season a walk for this distance requires an adequate trekking outfit.
We decided to return to JAMSHEDPUR and to postpone the expedition into the dry season. A two hours drive for the 40 km was a sufficient adventure for this day.
