30-Okt-2004 -- Nach dem erfolgreichen Besuch von Punkt 40N 31E bin ich am nächsten Tag, dem 30. Oktober, sehr früh morgens von Ankara aus losgefahren, um den Punkt 40N 35E anzugehen. Auf der E-88 habe ich Ankara in östlicher Richtung verlassen. Die Straße ist gut ausgebaut und man kommt schnell voran. In Yozgat geht eine Abzweigung nach Boğazkale, der alten Hethiterstadt Hattuşa. Diese absolut sehenswerte Stätte habe ich schon vor meiner Confluencezeit besucht, deswegen bin ich einfach an der Abzweigung vorbeigefahren. Nach Yozgat muss man links Richtung Alaca fahren. Auf halber Strecke kommt man dann sehr nah am Punkt vorbei.

Von der Hauptstraße bin ich auf einen Wiesenweg eingebogen und so weit gefahren wie es mit meinem Auto ging. Am Rand eines der vielen abgeernteten Sonnenblumenfelder habe ich mein Fahrzeug 2 Kilometer vom Punkt entfernt abgestellt und bin zu Fuß weiter. In der Direttissima kommt man über die abgeernteten Felder schnell vorwärts. Nur einmal musste ich einen Bach überqueren, aber an der richtigen Stelle schafft man das gut mit einem weiten Satz. Auf der anderen Bachseite habe ich dann gesehen, dass ein Weg fast in die Nähe des Punktes führt. Auf diesem Weg bin ich weiter und zum Schluss muss man nur noch ein kleines Stück den Hügel hinauf.

Mit dem Auto könnte man sich dem Confluencepunkt auf diesem Weg bis auf 300 Meter nähern. Ein sehr einfacher Punkt, der aber wie jeder Punkt seinen Reiz hat. Schön ist auch, dass in der Nähe des Punktes nichts bewaldet ist. Punkte ohne Wald und ohne unwegsames Gebirge, aber mit schöner Aussicht sind mir am liebsten.

Auf dem Rückweg sind mir einige Bauern begegnet, die alle freundlich grüßten. Als ich mit dem Auto zurück zur Hauptstraße gefahren bin, begegnete mir ein voll besetzter Traktor, der auf dem schmalen Weg über das Feld ausweichen musste. Alle grüßten, wie wenn ich hier täglich vorbei käme und es das Normalste auf der Welt wäre, dass ich auf ihrem Feld parkte. Sonst habe ich es auf meinen Confluence-Fahrten in entlegenen Orten öfter erlebt, dass alle aus den Häusern kamen und mich anschauten, als sei ein Ufo gelandet.

30-Oct-2004 -- After my successful visit to confluence 40N 31E, I started early the next day from Ankara to tackle the confluence 40N 35E. I left Ankara on the E-88 in eastern direction. The road is well constructed and allows a fast getting along. In Yozgat is a turnoff towards Boğazkale, the old Hittite capital of Hattuşa. I visited this site absolutely worth seeing already before my confluencing period, so I passed the turnoff this time. Having left Yozgat, one has to drive left in direction to Alaca. Halfway there, one passes the Confluence quite closely.

Leaving the main road, I entered a meadow path and drove along as far as it was possible with my car. I parked my car at the edge of one of the many harvested sunflower fields about 2 km from the Confluence, and continued on foot. In a direct line, I could make good progress over the harvested fields. Only once, I had to cross a stream, but this was possible by a big leap at the right place. On the other side of the stream I could see that a path was leading close to the point. I continued along this path and eventually only had to climb a short distance up a hill.

It is possible to approach this point by car on this path to 300 m. A very easy Confluence, but having its own appeals as every Confluence. It is also convenient that there is no forest close to the point. I prefer Confluences without forests and impassable mountains, but with beautiful vistas.

On the way back I met some farmers that all greeted me friendly. When driving back to the main road with my car, I encountered a fully manned tractor, which had to draw aside from the narrow path onto the field. All greeted me, as if I would come along here every day, and it would be the most normal in the world that I parked on their field. During my other confluencing I often found at remote places that the people came out of their houses and looked at me as if a ufo had landed. (GK)
