20-Apr-2003 -- This was our third and final Confluence for the day, having previously visited 28S 21E and 29S 22E.
From 29S 22E we travelled through Groblershoop, towards Griekwastad, turning off on the road towards Niekerkshoop and Prieska, just before Griekwastad. Shortly after turning towards Prieska the tar road ends, and becomes a good quality gravel road. The Confluence lies about 1200 metres southeast of the main public road, about 15 km along the gravel road.
There is a farmhouse not very far from the Confluence, so we approached the farmer for permission. Mr Meintjies (who was aware of the Confluence on his farm) was exceptionally friendly and offered us the keys to the farm gates to allow us to approach the Confluence on the farm tracks. This allowed us to get within 400 meters of our objective, parking our transport near a small windmill and dam.
After taking photos we returned the farmer's keys, and gratefully accepted an offer of tea. With no more Confluences to visit today we headed for Kimberley, our intended overnight stop, via Griekwastad en route home to Cape Town.
