  47°N 70°W (visit #3)

#1: #01 location of CP 47N-70W from a distance of 10 m

(visited by Thomas Barthel)

19-Jul-2019 -- During our summer holidays in Canada, I took the chance to visit some confluence points. The story continues from 49°N 66°W visit #4.

From north west we came the road 204 to Sainte-Perpètue. At the Entrance we saw the sign for the 150th anniversary (1869 to 2919). Soon I took the turn off to the "Rue Terrebonne", direction south west. 8.4 km later I parked the car at the unpaved road and prepared for the walk of the last 1000 metres to the confluence point. This was the first time that I used my mosquito protection for the head. It worked perfect! With my long wear I only had to protect my hands to the mosquito and deer fly bites. At the beginning I had to step over a closed gate. After 600 metres I found a foot stick in a quite good condition, which lead to the right direction. I think it did not exist in the year 2003, when the last visit took place. I continued through head-high grass. Now it was a really dry time of the year. But in other times this area should be swampy, I guess. Later I had to pass woodland, but at luck without thorny plants. So I reached the confluence point quite fast and had no problems to take the picture of the GPS, showing the exact location. After the other needed pictures at the CP 47°N 70°W I followed my own track back. That's why I found the mentioned foot bridge immediately.

Afterwards we continued our trip direction south west, to visit the city of Montréal.

The story continues at 46°N 72°W visit #3.
