20-Jun-2024 -- Auf unserer Reise nach Südtirol besuchten wir zuerst den CP N49 E12. Ein kleiner, gelungener Ausflug während einer langen Fahrt - also sollte es direkt weiter zum nächsten CP gehen.

Voller Energie machten wir uns auf zum CP N47 E12, den einzigen CP in Südtirol. Nach kurzem Blick auf die Karte nahm ich an, dass man am besten aus südlicher Richtung an den Punkt käme, zumal in unmittelbarer Nähe eine Straße ist, auf welcher man parken konnte. Dort angekommen und nach wenigen Metern zu Fuß wurde mir klar, dass man aus dieser Richtung keinesfalls oder nur mit sehr großem Aufwand den Punkt erreichen würde. Mist!

Wir fuhren zurück ins Tal und versuchten es aus nördlicher Richtung. Parkten das Auto in Sankt Jakob im Ahrntal und liefen bergauf. Aufgrund schlechten Wetters und unübersichtlicher Wege liefen wir einen Weg bergauf, welcher uns immer weiter weg vom CP brachte. Das Gelände war allerdings zu steil um Querfeldein zu gehen und wir sehr erschöpft, nach 11h Fahrt und wir wollten noch weiter bis Misurina. Mit größer Enttäuschung über mich, dass ich mich im Vorfeld nicht besser erkundet habe, machten wir uns auf den Weg zum Auto. Ich nahm mir vor wieder zu kommen - und dies taten wir auf der Heimreise am 20.Juni. Stellten das Auto wieder in Sankt Jakob ab, nutzen den uns bekannten Waldweg zu Fuß und fanden einen Trampelpfad der uns nun endlich sehr nah an N47 E12 brachte. Etwa 30 Meter Luftlinie vom Weg entfernt war er. Etwas bergauf durchs Unterholz kam ich am CP an und war glücklich. Ich machte meine Bilder, fand direkt am CP eine kleine Dose, vermutlich ein Geocache, und lief vergnügt mit meiner Freundin zurück zum Auto. Anschließend ging es leider schon direkt wieder nach Hause.

20-Jun-2024 -- On our trip to South Tyrol we first visited the CP N49 E12. A small, successful excursion during a long journey - so we should go straight on to the next CP.

Full of energy, we set off to CP N47 E12, the only CP in South Tyrol. After briefly looking at the map, I assumed that the best way to get to the point was from the south, especially since there was a street in the immediate vicinity where you could park the car. When I got there and after walking a few meters, I realized that there was no way I could reach the point from this direction, or that it would only take a lot of effort. Damn!

We drove back into the valley and tried from the north. Parked the car in Sankt Jakob im Ahrntal and walked uphill. Due to bad weather and confusing paths, we walked uphill, which took us further and further away from the CP. However, the terrain was too steep to go cross-country and we were very exhausted after 11 hours of driving and we wanted to continue to Misurina. With great disappointment in myself for not exploring myself better beforehand, we made our way to the car. I decided to come back - and we did so on the way home on June 20th. We parked the car again in Sankt Jakob, used the forest path we were familiar with and found a trail that finally brought us very close to the N47 E12. It was about 30 meters from the path as the crow flies. A little uphill through the undergrowth I arrived at the CP and was happy. I took my pictures, found a small can right at the CP, probably a geocache, and happily ran back to the car with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, we then went straight back home.
