25-Jul-2005 -- I frequently drive between Portland, ME and Presque Isle, ME. It has been over 4 years since I last visited a confluence point, so I decided today was the day.
This particular confluence point, 46N by 68W is fairly easily accessible by road. After turning off route 2A south of Linneus onto the dirt Fire Road, it is about 0.5 miles to the closest point on the road abeam the confluence, and about 150 feet of working your way through shoulder-high raspberry bushes from there.
July 25th was a cool rainy day in Linneus. I could immediately see the point where previous confluencers had left the road to access the point, and was surprised to read online that the last visit was in 2001.
My visit to 46N by 68W was fairly short, due to the heavy rain. The photos include a north view, a south view, a GPS view, and a confluence area view.
