13-Sep-2008 -- This was our second confluence of the day. We headed up Rt 1 from 45N 68W. It was around 4pm by the time we got to Houlton, Maine. Boy were we hungry! We had traveled over 100 miles on a dirt road! Our kidneys were about shot! We stopped at a nice little diner as we headed down Rt 2 on the way to this confluence. I can't think what it was called, but I had a great chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Just what I needed!
We headed down Rt 2 looking for a road called Fire Rd. We made our way down the road to within about 75 feet of the confluence. After parking, we walked into the woods on the left side of the road and found the confluence in less than a minute.
We left a cache here for all to find and sign the log. It is called "No Minutes, No Seconds 46 68"
On a side note, the road is a private road and the main owner, Mary Gregor assures me that it is OK to go down the road, but if the gate is open and you drive down, beware that the owners may shut the gate behind them and you'll be locked in! You might want to walk or ride a bike or 4 wheeler.
Coordinator's Note: The DCP strongly discourages leaving behind permanent markers, especially in wild areas. This includes geocaches, particularly if they are in plain view. Please see here.
